Marion was born June 17, 1917 in Brooklyn, New York. She completed the 10th grade in high school. She moved to Alaska back in 1948. She lived in Anchorage from 1948 to 1949 before moving to Homer where she has lived ever since. Marion was a member of Grace Baptist Church/ Glacierview Baptist Church in Homer.

Her family writes, “Marion was an avid reader and loved crocheting. She loved to sing, especially Irish songs, popular songs of the 30s, 40s, and 50s, and Gospel hymns. When she saw Homer for the first time she exclaimed ‘I Love It’ and continued to do so for the rest of her life. Marion’s greatest joy came from knowing Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior — the One she loved and served for over 70 years.”
