Delores M. “Dee” Hanrahan, 73, died peacefully from cancer at the South Peninsula Hospital in Homer on May 26, 2015. She passed while surrounded by her son, Michael Indicavitch, her cocker spaniel, Buddy, and her husband, David Hanrahan.
Delores relocated from Mesa, Ariz., to the Soldotna area of Alaska during the spring of 1984 after marrying David E. Hanrahan. They moved to Homer in 1996.
She is survived by her husband, David Hanrahan; sons, Michael and Billy Indicavitch and their families; and David’s sons, Andrew and Michael Hanrahan and their families. Delores was preceded in death by her parents, David and Olga Orr; brothers, David and John Orr; and her son, Bobbie Indicavitch.
“Dee was a very outgoing person and loved to laugh. She was a good wife and mother. Delores enjoyed playing bingo at the local Elks Club. In her earlier years she worked with ceramics and creating art on T-shirts,” her family said.
She left us with the statement that, “When it is your time to go; it is your time to go and I’m ready to go.”
There are no memorial services planned. Her ashes will be spread in Kachemak Bay in the same location that her son’s ashes were previously spread.
