Dionella (Doni) Beeson

April 5, 1939-June 13, 2022

On Monday, June 13, 2022, Dionella (Doni) Beeson, loving mother of three, passed peacefully in her sleep at the age of 83.

Doni was born April 5, 1939, in Gallup, New Mexico, the second child of nine to Micheal and Lola Garcia.

After graduating high school from Gallup High School, she moved to Long Beach, California, where she met and married her husband, Marvin Beeson, in 1960. They had three children, Nikki, Kim and Darby. They were all born in California, but shortly after moved to Lowell, Oregon, where her husband was raised.

She also had three grandchildren, Bow, Malina and Tristan, and three great-grandchildren, Piper, Jeremy and Aaris.

In 1983 Doni moved to Anchorage and Wasilla first, and eventually to Homer, where she built Beeson Bed and Breakfast. She loved running the B&B, and was able to greet and share experiences with people from all over the world. This was definitely suited to her. After 15 years she decided to sell her beloved B&B and moved to Sun City, Arizona, where she lived for the next 17 years.

Doni continued traveling back to Alaska and many other places with family and friends. She loved traveling anywhere. All those that were lucky enough to spend time with her and enjoy her laugh and love were truly blessed. It was pure enjoyment listening too all her stories.

Doni is survived by her two daughters, Nikki and Kim; one sister, Mona; three grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held from 2-4 p.m. on Saturday, July 9, 2022, in Anchor Point at the Veterans of Foreign Affairs.
