Roger Drake

June 16, 1954 – April 25, 2025

Longtime Kasilof resident, Mr. Roger Drake, 70, died Friday, April 25, 2025, at his home in Kasilof.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 17th, 2025, at Peninsula Memorial Chapel & Crematory – 5839 Kenai Spur Hwy – Kenai, Alaska 99611. Following services, Roger will be laid to rest next to his wife at the Spruce Grove Memorial Park Cemetery in Kasilof, Alaska.

Roger was born June 16, 1954, inWisconsin. He grew up in Wisconsin and later in life moved to Alaska. He lived in Anchor Point for a long time before making his home in Kasilof. Roger was a heavy equipment operator and retired from Local 302 Operators & Engineers.

The family wrote, “Known for his unwavering dedication to family and his generous spirit, he leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and hard work. He cherished his role as a grandfather and found pure joy in the memories he shared with them. He was a proud father, always eager to talk about his kids’ accomplishments. His love for his wife, Dawn, was evident in every aspect of his life, even after she had passed. He was the hardest worker in the room. He was always willing to jump in and lend a hand. Nothing made him feel better that to help someone out or buy them a meal.”

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dawn Drake; grandson, Keith Pierce; brothers, Mitch and Andre Drake; parents, Arnold and Denise Drake and sister, Odette Hoobler.

He is survived by daughters Mandy (Preston) Pierce of Three Forks, MT and Amber Drake of Wasilla, Alaska; son, Devon (Christine) Drake of Anchorage, Alaska; brothers, Raymond (Christy) Drake of Anchor Point, Alaska and Daniel (Helen) Drake of Dot Lake, Alaska; grandkids, Preston Pierce, Jr, Ethan Pierce, Travis Pierce, Rylee Drake, and Braysen Butler; sisters, Josette Smith of Louisiana, Evelyn Kuretich of Alaska, Diana Weis of Texas, and Lily Loosli of Texas.
