Upcoming events

Football: Varsity football plays at 2 p.m. this Saturday against the Seahawks at Seward High School.

Cross-country running: The cross country team will compete in the Borough Championships this Saturday at the Tsalteshi Trails in Soldotna.

Volleyball: The volleyball team will compete in the West SpikeFest in Anchorage this Friday and Saturday.

Swimming: The Homer swim and dive team will compete in the SoHi Pentathlon this weekend in Soldotna.

In Review

Volleyball: The Palmer Moose defeated the Homer Mariners last Thursday in a non-conference home game with set scores of 25-21, 27-25, 14-25 and 25-22.

For the Mariners, Marina Carroll had 13 kills, Laura Inama had five kills and five digs, Kelli Bishop had 24 assists, eight dogs and five aces, and Kitri Classen notched five digs.

Cross-country running: Homer’s Autumn Daigle took first place in the girls race last weekend at the Frank D. Invitational at Seward High School. She won the race in 19 minutes, 52 seconds.

The Colony girls and boys cross-country teams swept the invite. The Homer girls took fourth place with 87 points while the boys took last with 164 points.

Homer’s Eryn Field was also in the top 10 finishers for the girls race, in 10th place with a time of 22:04.
