Homer hockey launches into season with Palmer Showdown

Homer’s hockey team came out of the Palmer Hockey Showdown with a 1-2 showing last weekend at the MTA Events Center.

The team started off with a loss to Dimond on Thursday, before coming back in a Friday match against Wasilla, which the Mariners won 3-1. The team’s final game against Colony, the team that won the round-robin tournament, was a loss of 3-1.

Thursday— Dimond 9, Homer 2

The Homer hockey team will host the End of the Road Shootout this weekend starting today at the Kevin Bell Arena. Homer plays against Service at 7:30 p.m. tonight, plays Kenai at 7:30 p.m. Friday and faces off against Wasilla at 12:20 p.m. Saturday.
