Soccer team creates new fun run

The Homer High School girls’ soccer team held our inaugural “Trot to the Top” fun run this past Saturday, which started at Homer Middle School and provided three distances that runners could compete in.

The furthest distance was 5.7 miles which went to the top of Baycrest Hill and back, the second was a halfway point at 2.7 miles and the third was a walking distance which had a turnaround point at the bottom of West Hill.

It was the first time we have had an event like this and I am hoping to make it an annual thing that the community and running community can put on their calendars each year and look forward to. We had 49 runners and walkers participate and each participant received lunch afterwards, which was provided by many parent volunteers.
