Game and event schedules are subject to change.
Football: Homer’s football team is scheduled to play against Seward High School at 2 p.m. on Saturday. Attendees are asked to bring masks to wear for when they are unable to social distance.
Cross-country running: The cross country team will host a dual meet with Seward at 4 p.m. on Friday at Ohlson Mountain near Homer.
Volleyball: The Lady Mariners are scheduled to have a conference game against Seward High School this Saturday in Seward. The C team plays at 1 p.m., followed by the junior varsity team at 2 p.m. and varsity at 3 p.m.
Swimming: The Alaska School Activities Association has pushed back the start of the swimming season. The 2020-2021 swim and dive season will begin with the first practice on Sept. 2, the first competition date is on Sept. 17, the last regular season/conference tournament competition is on Nov. 28 and the state tournament is from Dec. 4-5.

Cross-country running: Homer’s cross-country running team had originally been scheduled to attend a meet last weekend with other peninsula schools at the Tsalteshi Trails in Soldotna. When sports were canceled for the high schools in Nikiski, Soldotna and Kenai due to high community transmission of COVID-19, the team switched gears and traveled to Seward for a two-school meet.
Seward runners topped both races on Friday at the dual meet.
Seward’s Maranatha Brueckner took first place overall in the girls race with a time of 23 minutes, 49 seconds. Homer’s Eryn Field took second place in 24:34.
Seward’s Max Pfeiffenberger came first for the boys with a time of 18:32, and Homer’s Seamus McDonough took second in 19:19.
