Weekly sports highlights

Upcoming events:

Hockey: The Homer High School hockey team will play Kenai Central High School at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Kevin Bell Arena. It’s the last home game, and it’s senior night for the team.

Cross-country skiing: The Homer Nordic ski team will race at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 26 at Kenai Central High School. On Saturday, Jan. 27, they will compete in Seward.

Girls and Boys Basketball: The girls varsity team will play an away game against Grace Christian School at 6 p.m. Friday, Jan. 26, and an away game against Seward at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 27. They will play Soldotna High School at home at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 30. The boys varsity team will also play Grace Christian on Friday, at 7:30 p.m. They will play Seward on Saturday at 3:30 p.m., and Soldotna at home at 8 p.m. on Tuesday.
