Upcoming events:

Homer High School

Hockey: The Homer High School hockey team will play Wasilla at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 30 at the Kevin Bell Ice Area in Homer. The team plays Colony at 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 1, and plays Palmer at noon on Saturday, Dec. 2. Both of those games are also at home.

Wrestling: The wrestling team will compete in a dual against Colony at 3 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 30 at home in the Alice Witte Gymnasium. This is also Senior Night for the wrestlers. The team will then compete in the North South.

Cross-country skiing: The Nordic ski team will compete in the Mat-Su Invite on Friday and Saturday, Dec. 1-2 at the Government Peak Recreation Area.

Homer High School

Cross-country skiing: The Homer Mariners Nordic ski team took to Tsalteshi Trails on Tuesday, Nov. 21 in their first race of the season, the Turkey Skate. Held in Soldotna, the race has been canceled several times in years past due to insufficient snow, but returned this year.

Homer’s Katia Holmes took third place for the girls in the 5.4-kilometer race with a time of 19 minutes, 50 seconds.
