Camp wins halibut derby

With the end of the 33rd Annual Jackpot Halibut Derby on Saturday, Ashley Camp of Vancouver, British Columbia, held her lead to win the derby. Camp caught a 221.4-pound halibut on July 28 while fishing with Midnight Sun Charters and Captain Brian Nollar on the Belle Ile. Camp will receive about $8,500.

The prize will be announced at an awards ceremony at 3 p.m. Thursday at the Salty Dawg. Prizes for the Jackpot Fish, Released Fish, Kids Prize, Captains Prize, Top Seller and Just for the Halibut also will be drawn at the prize ceremony. The ceremony will be live streamed on Facebook @jackpothalibutderby.
