Aug. 26

A caller at 7:30 a.m. reported a burglary at a Spit Road business.

A person at 12:54 p.m. reported finding a bottle of prescription medication on the Spit beach. Police tried to contact the owner but did not have a phone number and discarded the medication.

A caller at 2:24 p.m. reported a theft at Bishop’s Beach.

A caller at 3 p.m. made a “report every drunk driver immediately” complaint of a person driving in the construction zone near Mile 7 East End Road.

A man at 3 p.m. reported finding a money safe on the Mud Bay beach off Kachemak Drive.

A caller at 5:01 p.m. reported a shoplifter in custody at a Lake Street business.

A man at 5:04 p.m. reported receiving bad payroll checks.

A caller at 11:10 p.m. reported a drunk man in the lobby of a Bunnell Avenue business and asked that the man be issued a trespass notice. Police responded and advised a 33-year-old man not to trespass and gave him a ride home. At his apartment complex, the man was so drunk he could not remember the apartment where he lived. Police tried to contact the man’s family to take care of him, but had no success. The man then became aggressive and threatened police, who arrested him for disorderly conduct and housed him for the night in jail.

Aug. 27

A man at 1:06 a.m. reported receiving threatening messages on his cell phone meant for someone else.

A caller at 9 a.m. reported a driver speeding in a Subaru and running stop signs in the Ben Walters Lane area.

Police at 11:42 a.m. assisted in issuing trespass notices to people at the Karen Horn-
aday Park campground.

A woman at 12:03 p.m. reported losing a cell phone.

A woman at 6:30 p.m. reported finding money at a Spit business.

A caller at 6:54 p.m. reported a Jeep stranded below the high-tide line at the base of the Spit. Police responded.

A woman at 8:26 p.m. reported her bank told her a payroll check had nonsufficient funds.

A woman at 8:51 p.m. reported a person trying to make a U-turn in a Lake Street parking lot went into the ditch.

Aug. 28

A man at 1:15 a.m. made a 911 call that he heard gunfire and a woman screaming in the Skyline Drive area. Police responded and notified Alaska State Troopers. Troopers reported receiving a similar call reporting a party and fireworks. Police did not see any suspicious activity in police patrol area and updated troopers.

A caller at 1:32 a.m. reported people loitering suspiciously outside a Spit business and trying to climb a fence to sneak into a hot tub. The people then left on foot.

A woman at 1:10 p.m. reported her credit card was fraudulently used Outside.

A caller at 2:35 p.m. reported seeing a possible wanted subject in the Crittenden Drive and Sterling Highway area.

A person at 5:25 p.m. turned in identification found at an Ocean Drive restaurant.

A caller at 7:20 p.m. reported possible drug activity at Bishop’s Beach. Police responded but determined the call was unfounded.

A man at 7:35 p.m. reported a possible fuel spill on FAA Road. Police responded.

Police at 8:45 p.m. assisted a landlord in serving eviction paperwork at a Claudia Street address.

Police at 9:25 p.m. contacted a 20-year-old man and arrested him from driving in violation of instructional permit.

A man at 10:17 p.m. reported a couple fighting at a Spit parking lot. Police responded and transported one party to a local hotel.

Police at 11:34 p.m. contacted a driver on Little Fireweed Lane and advised the person of a revoked license.

Aug. 29

A caller at 11:15 a.m. reported cyberbullying.

A caller at noon reported a possible missing juvenile. Police contacted the parent who confirmed the child was at home.

A woman at 12:30 p.m. reported receiving harassing communications.

A caller at 8:06 p.m. reported a theft at a Lake Street address.

Police at 11:41 p.m. warned a bicyclist for not having lights at night.

Aug. 30

A person at 4:04 a.m. made a 911 call of a domestic disturbance on Pioneer Avenue. Police responded an arrested a 42-year-old woman on an outstanding warrant.

A caller at 5:43 a.m. reported a domestic disturbance at a Jennifer Place home. Police arrested a 33-year-old man for criminal mischief.

A caller at 9:12 a.m. reported people yelling at the Karen Hornaday Park campground. Police responded.

A man at 9:52 a.m. reported a truck driver passing too closely to bicycle riders on Pioneer Avenue.

A caller at 1:30 p.m. reported a person issued a trespass notice from a Sterling Highway property was back at the property. The subject left the area.

A caller at 5:10 p.m. reported a shoplifter at a Lake Street store. Police arrested a 39-year-old woman for fourth-degree theft and took her to the Homer Jail.

A woman at 6:51 p.m. reported a possibly drunk pedestrian on Main Street. Police responded and found all was OK.

A caller at 7:51 p.m. reported a lost wallet.

Police at 10:10 p.m. served a domestic violence protective order at a Diamond Willow Road address.

Aug. 31

A caller at 10:12 a.m. reported an unresponsive man in a truck stuck on Bishop’s Beach. Police responded and found a man was sleeping and all was OK. 

A caller at 2:05 p.m. reported a man and woman yelling at each other as they walked on Beluga Place.

A man at 3:10 p.m. reported lost property across Kachemak Bay.

A caller at 5:58 p.m. reported a man acting strangely on Pioneer Avenue. Police contacted the man and found a responsible party was at the scene.
