Seven students successfully completed their Alaska Emergency Medical Technician II practical test on Oct. 24. The students were in a class jointly held by Anchor Point Fire and Emergency Services and the Homer Volunteer Fire Department and taught by Kate Andrews and Terry Kadel.

After more than 70 hours of instruction, skills check-offs and test, the community volunteers will have all of their paperwork submitted to the Alaska Office of Emegency and Medical Services for certification.

Completing the class were Chelsea Marsh, Jake Kemnitz and Justin Norton of Anchor Point Fire and Emergency Services and Emily Larson, Chessie MacRae and Aleks Kay of HVFD.
