Jay Calvert left, and Meagan DeBenedetto, right, hold a pipe distributing silver salmon fry into pens at the Nick Dudiak Fishing Lagoon last Thursday. About 130,000 fry were put into the pens. Calvert is a doctoral student at the Ulster University in Northern Ireland. He is a Fulbright Scholar and is here Alaska working with Alaska Pacific University biology environmental science professor Bradley Harris of on a seabed mapping project. DeBenedetto is an undergraduate student at APU. They were with a group of 14 APU students working with the Alaska Department of Fish and Game on various projects.
