Tsalteshi starts on new maintenance shed

Construction is beginning on a new maintenance building for the Tsalteshi Trails just outside of Soldotna.

The small Homer Educational and Recreational Complex, or HERC, building is seen here on Oct. 2, 2021, in Homer, Alaska. Known as HERC 2, the former school building had been used as a shop by the Public Works Department, but staff relocated into HERC 1, the larger building, after cracks appeared in the walls and city officials had concerns about the building collapsing during an earthquake.
