Gail Elaine (Crowley) Murphy, born June 20, 1953, to Dolores and Tom Crowley in Auburndale, Florida, passed away surrounded by love and family.
Gail’s journey was as vibrant and winding as her spirit — from her childhood in sunny California to her high school years in Pomona and her graduation from Oxnard High School in 1971. Never one to settle, she followed the long road to Alaska, making meaningful stops and memories in Arizona and Reno along the way. In Homer, Alaska – she would go on to help establish the Driftwood Inn & Inlet Trading Post.
A lifelong seeker and student of experience, Gail often said she was an intern at the “University of Life.” Her wisdom, earned through trial and reflection, was shared with quiet grace. She had a gentle way of guiding those she loved, always hoping for peaceful outcomes and deeper understanding.
Gail deeply valued human connection. Whether with a kind word, an open heart, or a listening ear, she left an impression on everyone who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her longtime partner, Mike Marion.
Gail is lovingly remembered by her brother, Steve Crowley; her sons Geoff Murphy (Laura), Michael Murphy (Marina), and Christopher Murphy (Daisy); her daughter Deva Frasier (Justin); along with numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will carry her stories, counsel, and love forward for generations to come.
Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched and the wisdom she left behind — a testament to a life fully lived and a heart wide open.
