Longtime Alaskan and Homer resident, Mrs. Wanda Baxter, 89, died Monday, June 2, 2025, at South Peninsula Hospital in Homer, Alaska.

Memorial services will be held 1:30 p.m. Saturday, July 12th, 2025, at The Bidarka Inn Conference Room – 575 Sterling Hwy – Homer, Alaska 99603. Pastor Jake will be officiating.

Wanda was born on August 16, 1935, in Scotts Bluff, Nebraska. She graduated High School and furthered her education by attending business school in California. Wanda moved to Alaska in 1967, living in Bethel from 1967 to 1972, before moving to Homer in 1972. She was the owner of JE Baxter and Associates in Homer. Wanda was a member of the Homer Independent Baptist Church, Homer Elks Club, and volunteered at the Homer Senior Center for many years. She loved doing stained glass, painting, and collecting dolls.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Phoebe and Alanzo Schnee and brother, David Schnee.

She is survived by her Sons, Brad (Amy) Baxter of Eugene, Oregon and their children, Avery and Finn Baxter both of Eugene, Oregon and Eric (Shana) Baxter of Anchor Point and their children, Melissa and Warren Baxter both of Anchor Point, Alaska.

Memorial donation may be made in memory of Wanda to The Homer Senior Center – 3935 Svedlund Drive – Homer, Alaska 99603.
