Welcome to the club

The Kodiak High School tennis team made a visit to Homer recently. After testing their skills against members of the Homer Tennis Association and receiving some coaching from retired tennis Coach Jim Gorman of Anchor Point, the team relaxed at Karen Hornaday Park during a picnic in their honor. Perfect attendance rewarded

At 2 p.m. Saturday, the Homer Public Library clocked its 1-millionth visitor to the new library since it opened in September 2006. The lucky millionth visitor, Joy McCaul, was greeted with a certificate, goody bag and gift certificate provided by Friends of the Homer Public Library. Patrons and staff in the library enjoyed the look of surprise on McCaul’s face when they told her what was going on. The celebration included  balloons, carrot cake and noisemakers blown by the librarians.-Photo Provided

Library celebrates 1 millionth visitor
