At 2 p.m. Saturday, the Homer Public Library clocked its 1-millionth visitor to the new library since it opened in September 2006. The lucky millionth visitor, Joy McCaul, was greeted with a certificate, goody bag and gift certificate provided by Friends of the Homer Public Library. Patrons and staff in the library enjoyed the look of surprise on McCaul’s face when they told her what was going on. The celebration included balloons, carrot cake and noisemakers blown by the librarians.-Photo Provided
