April 5

Police at 2:01 a.m. contacted a 48-year-old man driving on the Sterling Highway and arrested him for driving while license suspended.

A caller at 10:39 a.m. reported possible gunfire in the Sterling Highway and Soundview Avenue area. Police responded.

A caller at 8:33 p.m. reported seeing an unlicensed driver near Mile 17 East End Road. Police referred the call to Alaska State Troopers and then assisted troopers. Troopers advised all was OK and arrested a 40-year-old man for driving while license revoked.

April 6

A caller at 1:30 p.m. reported a break-in at a Bayview Avenue address.

A person at 5:58 p.m. made a 911 call reporting being drunk and needing help at a Sterling Highway address. Police responded and arranged for a cab to take the person home.

Police at 8:16 p.m. received an email from a concerned citizen. Police spoke with the person.

April 7

A caller at 12:36 a.m. reported a disturbance in progress at a Mountainview Avenue address. Police responded and determined the incident did not rise to the level of a crime. A man was transported to another place to stay for the night.

A caller at 9:50 a.m. reported a phone scam in the Homer area.

A caller at 12:08 p.m. made a “report every dangerous driver immediately” complaint of a possible drunk driver. Police stopped the suspect, a 33-year-old woman, and arrested her for driving under the influence and third-degree assault, domestic violence.

Police at 7:09 p.m. contacted a driver and warned the person for spinning brodies on private property on Ocean Drive.

A caller at 9:40 p.m. reported a dog bite. Police determined the incident happened outside city limits and forwarded the complaint to Alaska State Troopers.

April 8

Police at 12:30 a.m. contacted people outside a closed business on Bunnell Avenue and advised them to move along. A woman asked for a ride to her home. Police provided transportation.

A caller at 9:10 a.m. reported people getting into an unoccupied home on Pioneer Avenue during the late evening and early morning. The caller asked for extra patrols.

A woman at 12:30 p.m. reported harassing communications.

A caller at 1:30 p.m. reported hearing a loud gunshot in the Lee Drive area.

A person at 3:29 p.m. made a 911 call of young people climbing on the roof of a public building on the Sterling Highway. Police responded and contacted the suspects.

A person at 6:23 p.m. made a 911 call asking for help getting home. Police provided transportation.

April 9

Police at 3:39 p.m. contacted a 39-year-old man driving on the Spit and arrested him for driving without a license, not having insurance and violating conditions of release.

A person at 8:22 p.m. made a 911 call reporting an assault in a moving vehicle on Pioneer Avenue. Police contacted the car and people but said no crime was articulated.

April 10

A caller at 1:36 p.m. reported suspicious activity at Homer High School. Police responded.

A caller at 3:09 p.m. reported a child locked inside a Grubstake Avenue home. Police responded and found all was OK.

A person at 6:39 p.m. made a 911 call asking for a welfare check on a disoriented man on Pioneer Avenue. Police responded but could not find the man.
