The Bureau of Land Management is looking to host an artist for two weeks in the Yukon River community of Eagle as part of its new artist-in-residence program. The summer residence is open to emerging or established artists working in nearly any media, including painting, printmaking, photography, writing and music. The BLM provides transportation between Fairbanks and Eagle and housing during the stay in Eagle. Artists are expected to donate the use of a piece of artwork inspired by their time in Eagle to help promote public lands. The BLM plans on offering several residencies annually in different seasons and locations, including another in the Eagle or Fortymile region and a winter residency in the White Mountains National Recreation Area near Fairbanks.
