South Peninsula Hospital to host community information session

South Peninsula Hospital (SPH) is set to host a virtual information and question-and-answer session to help community members learn more about hospital governance and operations, and ask questions and provide feedback to hospital leadership.
The online event will take place on Thursday, July 30 at 2 p.m., and will feature SPH CEO Ryan Smith and board of directors president Aaron Weisser, as they address concerns that have been raised recently in the community. An unlimited time for questions and comments from the online audience will follow.
“Topics will include the roles of hospital leadership, the board of directors, and medical staff, and how the hospital is structured as a nonprofit hospital and contracted by the Kenai Peninsula Borough,” SPH stated.
Discussions will also include how decisions are made to support quality, safety, and access to care, how patient concerns and grievances are addressed, and how community voices help shape healthcare on the southern peninsula.
