Celtic club fundraiser a success

I would like to offer our sincerest “thank you” to the many who helped us make our initial fundraising events for the 2013 Kachemak Bay Highland Games a success this year.

The Kachemak Bay Celtic Club would like to express a big “thank you” to Alice’s Champagne Palace, Cindy Burns and her awesome staff for hosting our first St. Patrick’s Day event on March 17. We are definitely planning on making this an annual fundraising event. We want to thank everyone who came out, participated and supported us because you are the reason we had such success.

The club also would like to thank the Homer Theatre for allowing the community to schedule special events by renting their facility and for their assistance and walking us through the processes in making our first movie night on March 14 a delightful accomplishment. We had a bigger crowd than we expected and many who had never seen “The Quiet Man,” a 1952 comedy/romance/drama set in Ireland.

Lastly, I would like to extend a warm and heartfelt “thank you” to our club members. We could not have been as successful without the assistance of those members who pitched in to make these events come together.

I want to recognize the following: the “creator” of “Liam” our trophy for the Lovely Legs contest, Michael Armstrong; Shelley Fraley for her enduring energy and spunk organizing the events and part-time emcee; Chelsea White and Ashley Burns for manning the “Bairns” area; Julie Tomich for providing her artistic patience and creative designs on small faces; the “King of Tall Tales” and Merriment, Steve Mueller; and the Articulation of Robert Archibald keeping us on schedule.

An additional kudo is expressed to those members who stayed out of the limelight but provided us with setup, judging, ticket sales and manned the door.

We look forward to seeing everyone at our upcoming events.

Tapadh leat (thank you). Go raibh maith agat (May good things be bestowed upon you).
