In my opinion and what I have learned in my 91 years of life is that if I want to serve and do good for my family, friends, community, State of Alaska and my great country the United States of America, I would not resort to tearing a fellowman down in order to be reelected or get ahead.
I have noted for many years that Sen. Lisa Murkowski loves and serves herself and not those of us she pretends to serve. She has bought and fought her way to enjoy the luxury and title of representing Alaska. Sen. Murkowski has never lived up to her commitments. She never has voted with her conservative colleagues. She does not represent the residents of this great State of Alaska.
It is my prayer that folks will be able to see her for what she is. Now she is tearing down Sen. Dan Sullivan, and why? Only to further her in her endeavour to hold her position as a senator. She will not keep our best interest in the future as her record shows of her past.
Sen. Murkowski bought and paid for a write-in campaign some years back knowing that many folks weren’t very happy with Joe Miller. Of course, she dug in her nails and nailed him. I think for the time being he would have been a better option.
My parents brought myself and my sister to Alaska in 1940 and this has been my home for these many years. I personally voted against statehood as Bartlett was our representative and I felt he hadn’t done us much good, so why should we become a state with more representation — and in many ways it has proved out I was right!
Please make prayerful choices as you vote in the midterms. We need people that are not going to Washington, D.C., to better themselves but to represent and do for Alaskans. Our state has so much to offer and I know that President Trump realizes our resources. He wants us to be able to use each of these in a manner beneficial to Alaskans.
I’ve been a resident of Homer for many years, but earlier in my life, my late husband Bill and I lived in Fairbanks. As children and growing up we both were a coal miner daughter and son. We lived in coal mining camps all over the state and I am pleased with my heritage and upbringing.
Thank you for hearing me out. I just couldn’t set back and not share my thoughts with you.
