A 194-pound halibut caught by Bevilyn Wright of Dalhart, Texas, leads the Homer Jackpot Halibut Derby.

Wright caught the barn door while fishing with Capt. Jared Berg of the Bottom Fi$her, a private boat.

She bought her derby ticket at the Homer Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Center.

If Wright keeps her lead for July, she will win a $1,000 prize for the month’s biggest fish.

Other top fish for July are a 119.2-pound halibut caught by Nick Forrest of Toronto, Ontario, Canada, fishing with Capt. Travis on the Diamond Cape with Homer Ocean Charters; and a 118.2-pound fish caught by Ralph Feriani Jr. of Seattle, Washington fishing with Capt. Chris Andrews on the Nautilus II with Alaska Coastal Marine.
