The newly formed Homer Tsunami youth softball team is forging ahead into a season of play against other similar youth teams in the state.

Last weekend, the Tsunamis won four games in a small tournament held at Jack Gist Park where teams from Anchorage and Kenai were hosted. Led by Homer High School softball coach Bill Bell and assistant coach Hannah Zook, the Tsunamis are the most recent iteration under that name.

They are a group of youth softball players from Homer now sanctioned under USA Softball and the program is meant to increase interest in the sport across a broader age spectrum.
