Flex Phoenix Award winner announced

Sophomore Kira Milne is the recipient of the Flex Phoenix Award for this month.

This award is given out once a month to the student at Homer Flex High School who best represents the Flex values of respect, ownership and productivity, according to an email from school counselor Ingrid Harrald.

“Kira was nominated for this award for her compassion and leadership,” Harrald wrote. “She has quickly integrated herself into our community, and has shown herself to be attentive, respectful and empathetic to both students and staff, finding connection with everyone.”

“She is creative, talented and open-minded — all qualities that serve her well both inside and outside of the classroom,” Harrald continued. “Always thoughtful, inquisitive, and prepared, Kira exemplifies the Flex Phoenix.”
