California old-time string band Chicken Liquor performs 8-11 p.m. Sept. 4 at the Down East Saloon. Featuring “rollicking twin fiddles and bright country harmonies,” as they describe themselves, Chicken Liquor is a combined band of four veteran musicians who have been playing together as friends for more than 10 years. They came together when bands Triple Chicken Foot from Los Angeles and Skillet Licorice from San Francisco met for dinner in 2013. Chicken Liquor plays in Homer as part of a tour that also takes them to Anchorage, Hope, Seward and Talkeetna.
