Homer Police

April 4

Homer Police at 9:51 p.m. made a routine traffic stop on a 36-year-old Homer woman and arrested her for driving under the influence. She was taken to the Homer Jail and her car towed from the scene.

Police at 10:21 p.m. received a report of a disabled vehicle in the roadway. The caller reported a short while later that the driver smelled of alcohol and walked away after being told police had been notified. Following an investigation, police arrested the driver, a 30-year-old Homer woman, for DUI and refusal to take a breath test and took her to the Homer Jail.

April 8

Police at 7:27 a.m. received a report of a hit-and-run incident that occurred on April 7 in a parking lot.

Police at 10:16 a.m. went to a single vehicle rollover at Skyline Drive and Woodman Lane.

Police at 11:38 a.m. went to a report of an assault. Police arrested a 26-year-old man for two counts of third-degree assault and one count of fourth-degree assault.

Police at 12:19 p.m. went to a report of a vehicle in the ditch on Lake Street.

April 9

Police at 9:14 a.m. received a report of a theft that happened on April 8. The incident remains under investigation.

Police at 11:40 a.m. arrested a 43-year-old person on an outstanding warrant for petition to revoke probation.

Police at 9:02 p.m. arrested a 39-year-old Anchorage man for DUI, refusal to submit to a chemical test and second-degree misconduct involving a controlled substance. A 40-year-old Anchorage person was arrested for fifth-degree misconduct involving a controlled substance.

April 10

Police at 11:20 a.m received a report of vandalism to a vehicle. The incident is under investigation.

Police at 5:10 p.m. arrested a 33-year-old Kenai man for two counts of first-degree sexual abuse of a minor and three counts of second-degree sexual abuse of a minor.

Police at 6:28 p.m. received a report of a hit-and-run incident in a parking lot. The case is under investigation.

Alaska State Troopers

April 6

An Alaska State Trooper K-9 team at 10:43 p.m. made a traffic stop on a driver for a speeding violation near Mile 166 Sterling Highway. Following an investigation, troopers arrested the driver, a 46-year-old Homer woman, for DUI. She was taken to the Homer Jail.

April 7

Troopers at 3:04 p.m. received a report that a 2003 blue GMC Sierra had been stolen near East End Road and McBride Avenue. A 4:52 p.m. troopers received another call that someone stole a Ski-doo snowmachine after a driver in the GMC Sierra appeared near East End Road and Unity Road. Troopers later located a 26-year-old Homer man in the area with the crashed Ski-doo. Troopers arrested the man for first-degree vehicle theft, second-degree vehicle theft, DUI, two counts of first-degree criminal trespassing, third-degree theft and driving while license revoked. He was taken to the Homer Jail.

April 8

Troopers at 7:29 a.m. received a report of a single vehicle rollover near Mile 143 Sterling Highway in Anchor Point. An investigation showed the driver, a 20-year-old Anchor Point woman, drove too fast for conditions. Troopers issued her a summons for not having insurance and speeding.

April 10

Troopers at 11:34 a.m. made a traffic stop on a 23-year-old Anchor Point man for a seatbelt violation. Troopers issued the driver a summons for driving without insurance.

Troopers at 4:05 p.m. made a traffic stop for speeding on a motorcycle driver on the North Fork Road. An investigation showed a 20-year-old Anchor Point man allowed a 14-year-old family member to drive the motorcycle without a license. Troopers cited the adult for permitting an unauthorized person to drive and failure to transfer title. The 14-year-old was released to an adult family member.
