State Trooper Report

Sept. 5

Alaska State Troopers at 11:02 p.m. went to a car crash at Mile 132 Sterling Highway near Ninilchik. Troopers said a 68-year-old Anchor Point woman driving south in a 2001 Dodge Durango hit an adult moose. All occupants in the car wore seatbelts and were uninjured. Damage to the car was estimated at about $6,000.

Sept. 9

Troopers at 10:15 a.m. went to report of a vehicle in the ditch at Mile 2 North Fork Road in Anchor Point. Troopers said a 23-year-old Homer man driving a 2009 Ford F150 pickup truck fell asleep, crossed the centerline and went into the ditch. It then hit a culvert. 

The man had non-life threatening injuries and was taken to South Peninsula Hospital by Anchor Point Emergency Medical Service. Damage to the truck was estimated at about $10,000.

Sept. 10

Troopers at 9:30 a.m. made a traffic stop on a 26-year-old Homer man in Homer. They arrested him for driving while license suspended and violating conditions of release.
