Nominations open for HEA board

Nominations will be accepted through Feb. 28.

Homer Electric Association is accepting nominations for board seats through the end of next month.

Nominations are open for District 1, representing Kenai, Nikiski and parts of Soldotna; District 2, representing the Soldotna, Sterling and Kasilof areas; and District 3, representing the Kasilof, Homer and Seldovia areas.

Any member of the cooperative who is also a resident is welcome to run in their respective area. According to Homer Electric Association’s website, the time commitment ranges from 10 to 20 hours per month, including preparation and attendance at various meetings and participation in director training and education.

The candidacy packet is available online and at the HEA offices in Kenai and Homer.

Nominations will be accepted until 5 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 28, at the Homer and Kenai HEA offices or via email to BoardCandidate@homerelectric.com.

Voting among current members will begin on March 28. Winners will be announced at the Association’s Annual Meeting of the Members on May 1.
