There was something for every palate — from homemade marshmallows to salmon shark sliders — at Saturday’s second Taste of Homer event held at Wasabi’s. New this year were People’s Choice Awards, which went to Land’s End Resort (for their entree); Vida’s Thai (for appetizers); Red Bird Kitchen (for desserts); and Cool Juicy Bus (for beverages). Approximately 200 people turned out for the event and “vendors put out beautiful, beautiful food, again,” said Amy Martin, Taste of Homer organizer and owner of Vagabond Cafe. Plans already are in the works for the third annual Taste of Homer, with the possibility of making it a mobile event.
