Jeffery Lee Mishler, 64, passed away peacefully on September 20, 2025, surrounded by family.
Jeff was born on November 5, 1960, in Independence, Iowa, to Alice and LeRoy Mishler. After graduating from Independence High School in 1979, he moved to Alaska in 1980 to commercial fish with his brother Mike. In 1982,he met Linda (Kinney) Mishler. Together they raised two daughters, Megan and Kimberly — his greatest source of pride. Linda remained an important part of Jeff’s life and supported him until the very end.
Jeff transitioned from fishing in the early 1990s to working at Tesoro in Anchor Point before managing Fireweed Meadows Golf Course, where he eventually retired. He will be remembered for his quick humor, his love of family and friends, and his loyalty to the Chicago Bears and Chicago Cubs. Every spring, Jeff would call the satellite company claiming he had “moved to Chicago,” giving them Wrigley Field’s address just so he could watch every Cubs game.
In Jeff’s own words: “Go Cubbies, go Bears!”
Jeff was preceded in death by his parents, Alice and LeRoy Mishler. He is survived by his daughters Megan (Paul)Moore and Kimberly (Chris)Watson; his brothers Kent (Kathy)Mishler,MikeMishler, and Cody (Beth) Mishler; as well as many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held in Anchor Point, Alaska, in the spring of 2026. Details will be shared at a later date.
