Anchor Point King Salmon Derby scheduled for May 15

The Anchor Point Chamber of Commerce is hosting the 26th annual King Salmon Derby & Calcutta May 14-15. Registration is $100 per angler, and all anglers/boats must be registered by 6:30 p.m. Friday, May 14.

Anglers can register online at anchorpointchamber.org or at the Calcutta auction at the Anchor Point VFW by 6:30 p.m. Friday, May 14. Dinner and registration are scheduled from 5 – 6:30 p.m., and the auction will begin at 7 p.m.

The tournament runs Saturday from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m at the Anchor Point boat launch. All fish must be weighed by 6 p.m. The winners will be announced at 6:30 p.m. at the Anchor Point VFW.

Prizes will be awarded for first, second and third place catches, as well as a prize for the average weight fish. Anglers who opt for lodging in Anchor Point or show proof of launching with Anchor Point Tractor Launch will get $20 back from their registration fee. Side bets are available at $50, $150 and $200 with a 60/40 split.
