Cross country draws record number of West Homer Elementary students

West Homer Elementary School’s cross country team concluded a successful season with the Orca Fun Run on Oct. 1. This season the team had a record 56 kids registered from the third through sixth grades. Over the season, the team ran at West Homer on the school’s new Nature Trail, the Homestead trails, the Homer Middle School Trails and even ran a day at the beach. The Fun Run was roughly a 1.5-mile course around West Homer Elementary and through the Nature Trail.

Top finishers in the fun run were:

5th and 6th grade race girls

1st Kaylin Anderson 12:06

2nd Hannah Blaine 13:06

3rd Emma Sulczynski 13:32

 

5th and 6th grade boys

1st Hunter Green and Casey Otis tied to win 10:57

2nd Trent Fell 11:09

3rd Timmy Hatfield 11:10

 

3rd/4th grade girls

1st Beatrix McDonough 12:25

2nd Elsa Otis 12:31

3rd Lawson Walls 12:42

 

3rd/4th grade boys

1st Spencer Dye 11;32
