The host Soldotna soccer teams swept Houston in nonconference action Friday.
The Stars girls notched a 5-0 victory to finish the regular season at 10-4-2.
Soldotna didn’t score until 28 minutes into the game, when Teagan Kobylarz scored unassisted, but the Stars still had a 4-0 lead at the half.
Those goals came from Jillian Duncan on assists from Piper Bloom and Kendra Rose, Rowan Peck on an assist from Duncan, and Duncan on an assist from Jazzalynn McDonald.
McDonald scored unassisted midway through the second half. Ryan Queen and Avery Powell combined on the clean sheet.
The Stars honored seniors Anika Jedlicka, Sadie Lane, Jazzalynn McDonald, Kendra Rose, Keely Sundberg, Avery Walden and Chloe See at the game.
The Stars boys won 1-0 to finish 13-4-1. Soldotna had just defeated Houston 11-0 on May 17.
Ryatt Weed scored in the fourth minute on an assist from Jonas Albrecht and that was enough to stand up.
Soldotna head coach Erik Dolphin wrote in a text message that senior day can mess with warmups and routine, but gave credit to the Hawks.
“They did a good job and I can’t take that away,” Dolphin wrote. “We beat them 11-0 a week ago. We weren’t ready to play today, but they really were.”
The seniors honored for SoHi were Weed, Simon Willets, Ryan McVey, Daniel Heath, Marshall DeRaeve, Ely Campbell, Harold Rudstrom and Albrecht.
