The host Mariners were triumphant against wrestlers from Grace Christian School in a dual match held Thursday in the Alice Witte Gymnasium.
Homer racked up 51 points compared to Grace’s 27.
Winning their respective bouts were Anthony Kalugin at 189, Ryan Hicks at 215, Alex Hicks at 285, Zander Moore at 103, Austin Cline at 125, Russell Nyvall at 130, Logan Counts at 145, Mose Hayes at 160 and Edson Knapp at 171. Antonin Maruchev and Dakota Moonin, both at 160, also won exhibition matches against their Grace competitors.

Grace Christian turned it around to win the Top Dog Invite on Friday and Saturday at Nikiski High School.
The Grizzlies scored 206.5 points, Colony was second with 198.5. and Homer was third at 187.5. Nikiski took fourth place at 183.5, Kenai was ninth at 102 and Soldotna was 10th at 79.
Kalugin picked up a championship match at 189, as did Hayes at 160. Cline at 119, Reutov at 140, Knapp at 171 and Alex Hicks at 285 all took second place in their respective weight classes.
Murachev at 152 and Ryan Hicks at 215 both took fourth place in their weight classes, while Nick Barber at 285 took fifth.
Also on Friday and Saturday, female Homer wrestlers competed in the Women’s Monster Mash Tournament at South High School in Anchorage.
Homer’s Rayana Vigil took first place in her 189-pound weight class. She went 2-0. Other Homer wrestlers Sadie Blake at 125 and Mischelle Wells at 135 took second place. Mina Cavasos at 119 and Mariah Grimes at 160 took third place in their weight classes, and Autumn Daigle took fifth.
