Jacoby finishes competition in Germany

Seward senior Lydia Jacoby finished up competition at the FINA World Cup in Berlin, Germany, on Sunday by finishing second in the 50-meter breaststroke.

This meet was Jacoby’s first international meet since the Summer Olympics, where she won a gold medal in the 100-meter breaststroke and silver medal in the 400 medley relay.

The Olympics took place in a pool 50 meters long. The Germany meet took place in a pool 25 meters long, while a high school pool is 25 yards long.

Jacoby finished at 30.04 seconds to finish second to the 29.61 of Israel’s Anastasia Gorbenko.
