The Jakolof Bay 10 Miler, a running/biking race sponsored by the Seldovia Arts Council, will take place this Saturday, July 27.
This event is open to everyone and will start at 11 a.m. Participants may register online ahead of time or in person on the day of the race at the Jakolof Bay Dock from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Bibs must also be picked up during this window on Saturday morning.
Adult registration is $20; kids 12 and under are $10. All participants will receive upon registration a pair of “one of a kind” Jakolof Bay 10 Miler socks designed by Homer artist Kathy Sarns.
Helmets are required for all cyclists. Youth competitors under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
The course begins at the Jakolof Bay Dock and continues along Jakolof Bay Road, into the City of Seldovia, finishing at the Harbor Pavilion. The course is described as “ten tough miles of hilly gravel road.”
One water station is available along the race route. Prizes will be awarded at the conclusion of the race.
