The Seldovia Arts Council held the Jakolof Bay 10 Miler race last Saturday, July 31. With COVID-19 cases on the rise, only 16 people participated in the event, but Tania Spurkland, Seldovia Arts Council secretary, said those who were able to race had fun.
“We had excellent weather for a fun event,” Spurkland said. “Due to the present COVID situation, our participation was down, but all that did participate seemed to enjoy themselves.”
The Jakolof Bay 10 Miler race results are as follows:
Adult Female Runners: Rima Carlson, 1:18:21; Rachel Friedlander, 1:39:10.
Adult Male Runners: Lance Williamson, 1:14:35; Devon Hansen, 1:26:30; Jonathan McLeod, 1:35:10.
Adult Female Bikers: Dianne Prince, 0:53:34; Margot Bias, 0:53:35; Connie Van, 1:00:50; Mel Chapman, 1:00:50; Joann Hansen, 1:29:18.
Adult Male Bikers: Brian Carlson, 0:40:11; J.J. Pilgreen, 0:53:25; Jeff Snedgen,1:13:26.
Juvenile Female Bikers: Duna Snedgen, 1:13:25; Lily Harris, 1:13:25.
Juvenile Male Bikers: Cyrus Pilgreen, 0:53:25.
The race was sponsored by the Seldovia Arts Council with support from the Kachemak Bay Running Club, the City of Seldovia and the Seldovia Chamber of Commerce.
