Sterling’s Morgan Aldridge finished fifth in the women’s race at the 2022 Tri Flake Winter Triathlon in Anchorage on Saturday.

The race was affected by a warm spell that set up shop in Southcentral over the weekend. The event featured a 3.7-mile run, 7.5-mile bike ride and 4.1-mile ski. The bike course had to be changed because of the warm, wet, windy weather.

Aldridge finished with a time of 1 hour, 53 minutes, 54.27 seconds at the race, which doubled as the Winter Triathlon National Championship for USA Triathlon. She also had the third-fastest bike leg in the race.

Colleen McGovern of Anchorage took the victory in 1:28:25.83.

Anchorage’s Eric Flanders won the men’s race at 1:17:51.22. Homer’s Morgan Jones was 13th in 1:40:07.38, while Homer’s Dan Miotke was 16th in 1:52:08.09.
