Two more candidates have joined the race for the Homer City Council. Incumbent Storm Hansen and realtor John Mink each filed this week for the two three-year term seats up for election on Oct. 7.
Hansen was first elected to the council in 2019. Mink currently works as a real estate agent with Bay Realty. They join incumbents Jason Davis and Bradley Parsons, who have also filed to retain their current seats.
Candidate statements for Davis, Hansen and Mink were pending on the city website as of Thursday evening. In his candidate statement, Parsons wrote that he has been “honored” to serve on the city council for the past year and is “eager to continue to represent the members of this wonderful community.”
“This year I have seen and heard the passion, caring, and thoughtfulness of Homer area residents and I am motivated by those voices … I am committed to understanding community desires and to problem solving to meet them,” he wrote.
