Library holds novel writing month kick-off

Friends of the Homer Library holds a National November Writing Month —NaNoWriMo — Kick-Off from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Homer Public Library. Come share your writing project ideas.

There will be refreshments, writing prompts, and of, course books to check out. Then come to the library over the month of November to work on your novel. Be sure to sign in and you’ll be entered into a drawing to win a $50 gift certificate to The Homer Bookstore.

At 6 p.m. Dec. 1 writers will meet again to share their experiences and excerpts of their projects. There will be refreshments and an announcement of the winner of the drawing. You must be present to win.

 

Deadline is Monday for Bunnell opportunities

Artists have until Monday, Oct. 31, to apply for several opportunities at Bunnell Street Arts Center. They are:

• Visual arts exhibits for 2017,

• Artist in Residency program for 2017 and

• Alex Combs $1,500 artist award for exploring new ideas and techniques through workshops and symposiums.
