Students, orchestra to perform concert

This fall, through Carnegie Hall’s Link Up program, the Kenai Peninsula Orchestra has been linking up with Kenai Peninsula students to explore orchestral repertoire. KPO artistic director Tammy Vollum-Matturro does a residency at McNeil Canyon Elementary School and Sue Biggs, KPO concertmaster, does a residency at Redoubt Elementary School, Soldotna. Nine members of the Homer Youth String Orchestra Club also have been learning music to play with the orchestra. The students will perform with the orchestra at its fall concert at 2 p.m. Nov. 3 at the Kenai Central High School auditorium and 2 p.m. Nov. 4 at the Homer Mariner Theatre.
