HEA community outreach programs now open

Applications for the 2025 HEA Scholarship Program are due March 30.

HEA announced in a March 6 press release that application periods for multiple community outreach programs are now open.

The deadline to apply to the 2025 HEA Scholarship Program is 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, March 30. Scholarships are available for high school seniors and adults wishing to continue their education and can be used to pursue trade or apprenticeship programs and/or two-year or four-year colleges and universities.

Participation in the Electrical Safety Poster Contest closes on Monday, March 31. Posters must be submitted to participants’ local HEA office by 4 p.m. This contest provides an opportunity for students in third and fourth grade to showcase their artistic skills while spreading awareness about electrical safety, the release states.

Additional information on the contest and prizes is available on the HEA website.

The application deadline for this year’s Youth Rally Leadership Camp is 5 p.m. on Tuesday, April 15. The camp will be held in Nampa, Idaho, on July 7-11.

“This leadership camp allows Alaskan students the opportunity to connect with over 90 students from seven different states while learning industry insights and general leadership skills and engaging in a variety of team building activities,” the release states.

Applications are open to high school sophomores and juniors attending a school in HEA’s service territory — HEA will select two students to attend Youth Rally and cover their travel and expenses.
