New Paul Banks book honors school’s namesake

Paul Banks Elementary School celebrates “Paul Banks Day” on Sept. 16. During a 1 p.m. assembly, author Dotty Cline will present her new book “Paul Banks: Alaskan Music Man.”
Banks was a custodian at East Elementary for 17 years, writing and playing songs for the students to perform. The school was renamed in his honor when he retired in 1981.
