South Peninsula Hospital offers discounted blood draws

Appointments are available Oct. 22 through Nov. 5 as part of the annual Rotary Health Fair.

Homer’s annual Rotary Health Fair is fast approaching, and with that comes an opportunity for community members to take advantage of discounted wellness screenings.

Provided by a partnership between South Peninsula Hospital and the Homer Kachemak Bay Rotary Club, “greatly discounted” blood draws will be available by appointment starting Oct. 22 and running through Nov. 5.

This year’s wellness screenings include new tests offered at lower rates compared to regular prices as well as last year’s Rotary Health Fair prices. The Wellness Package, which includes a basic panel, thyroid-stimulating hormone blood panel and Vitamin D panel, is $99 this year, down from $185 in 2024.

New tests this year include a vitamin panel for $70 and an iron panel for $30. A basic panel and individual Vitamin D panel will each cost $40. Individual A1C panels and prostate-specific antigen panels are $35 each, and an individual TSH panel is $30.

Free flu shots will also be available at appointments “while supplies last,” an Oct. 3 press release from SPH states.

Appointments are required and can be made online at rotaryhealthfair.org. Payment is collected at booking, and proceeds will benefit community programs sponsored by Homer Kachemak Bay Rotary.

Participants can access their test results as soon as they are available through their MyChart patient portal, the release states. Participants are also invited to bring their test results to the one-day Rotary Health Fair, held on Saturday, Nov. 8 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Christian Community Church, for free consultations with local medical providers.
