Flora wins Modified Dirty 30 at Twin City Raceway

Martin Flora of Fairbanks won the Modified Dirty 30 on Saturday, July 19, in Twin City Raceway-Circle Track Division action in Kenai.

Flora held the field at bay in a race that didn’t see a caution until 17 laps remained, and didn’t see another caution until four laps were left.

Flora was in the lead on the final lap when another caution flag went up, making him the winner.

Flora also won Heat 2, while Clay Petersen captured Heat 1.

The feature races started with the Legends. Parker Rose was able to hold his lead after a caution with three laps to go for the victory.

Josh Boone took Heat 1, while Brent Roumagoux nabbed Heat 2.

In Mini Stock, Jared Hutchings was able to sweep Heat 1, Heat 2 and the feature.

In the feature, Hutchings had a comfortable lead until he hit lap traffic with about five laps to go.

Kyla Stockman was able to battle Hutchings to the final turn, but finished second.

In the A Stock feature, Jake Savely was able to take the lead from Jimmie Hale midway through the 15-lap race and hold on to win.

Savely also won Heat 1, while Michael Hiatt captured Heat 2.

Fans at the race were treated to a functioning scoring tower that made the number of laps to go and top five easy to follow.

The Legends Dirty 30 will be Saturday, Aug. 16. Time trials are at 3 p.m., while racing is at 5 p.m.
