Soldotna softball takes 7th at Rally in Valley; Homer 8th, Kenai 13th

The Soldotna softball team led the Kenai Peninsula by finishing 4-3 to take seventh at the 6th annual Rally in the Valley softball tournament Thursday through Saturday.

Homer finishes 3-3-1 to take eighth at the event, while Kenai was 1-6 to finish 13th. Delta finished first at 7-0, while Colony was second at 7-0. The tournament had 16 varsity teams and 13 junior varsity teams.

The Stars are now 4-5 overall. Thursday, SoHi beat Hutchison 19-0, beat West Valley 15-4 and beat Lathrop 8-2. Friday, the Stars lost to Thunder Mountain and lost to Colony 7-4. Saturday, SoHi lost to Delta 4-0 and beat North Pole 12-9.

The Mariners are now 4-10-2. Thursday, Homer tied Wasilla 7-7 and lost to West Valley 8-3. Friday, Homer lost to Delta 10-2, beat North Pole 13-4 and beat Redington 10-9. Saturday, the Mariners beat Lathrop 12-1 and lost to Colony 5-0.

The Kardinals are 1-6. Thursday, Kenai lost to Ketchikan 12-0 and lost to Colony 8-3. Friday, the Kardinals lost to West Valley 6-2, lost to Wasilla 8-7 and beat Houston 14-1. Saturday, the Kards lost to Delta 4-2 and lost to Lathrop 11-2.
