Alaska State Troopers at 9:32 p.m. went to a “report every dangerous driver immediately” complaint of a suspect driver near Mile 12.5 East End Road. Troopers stopped a 54-year-old man driving a black Subaru and arrested him for driving under the influence.
Aug. 19
Troopers at 11:35 a.m. went to a report of a theft from a boat parked at a Sterling Highway gas station in Anchor Point. More than $1,000 in items was stolen.
Aug. 22
Troopers at 12:15 p.m. made a traffic stop on a black Pontiac Grand Am near Mile 137 Sterling Highway in Ninilchik. Troopers contacted a passenger, a 25-year-old Anchor Point man, and determined he was a convicted felon. Troopers found a concealable firearm inside the Pontiac and arrested the man for third-degree misconduct involving a weapon.
Troopers at 12:19 p.m. went to a car crash near Mile 135 Sterling Highway. Troopers said a 67-year-old Ninilchik woman driving a 2006 Chevrolet Aveo went into the opposite lane and hit a 2013 Nissan Murano driven by a 44-year-old California man. All parties wore seat belts. The woman had minor injuries and was taken to Central Peninsula Hospital by Ninilchik Emergency Medical Services. Both cars were totaled.
